Hola Mohalla
Hola Mohalla (meaning Mock Fight) is a Sikh festival celebrated in the month of March,
which coincides with the hindu festival of Holi, occuring just one day after it. An
annual festival held at Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, Hola Mohalla was started by our
tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On this 3 day festival, the Nihangs, as the
Sikh warriors were called, divided into two groups and engaged in mock battle near the
fort of Holgarh, giving them an occasion for these sikhs to demonstrate their martial
skills in simulated battles. This festival is unknown to many sikhs worldwide. Send
your family and friends this card to educate or remind them about this celebration.
