Gurpurabs

A Sikh festival or special day is called Gurpurab, meaning "Guru's remembrance day". The celebration is generally similar for all Gurpurabs, however, the shabads and history of a particular Gurpurab is different. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birthday usually comes in the month of November, as does the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji usually falls in May or June. December/January is usually around the time we celebrate Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's birthday. The reason that there is no "set date" is because birthdays were usually remembered according to the solar calendar.
